Here’s the result of the lecture 25 challenge. I obviously went a bit beyond “block modelling”.
I use extruding in a number of places
- The front and rear wheels are built from extruded cylinders. Each extruded face is rescaled outwards to build up the width of the wheel. I did this to construct half the wheel. I then duplicated and flipped one of the halves to finish off the other side of the wheel.
- The bracket around the rear wheel was done using simple cube extrusion.
- The fuselage is built from another cylinder, which is then extruded and tapered down towards the tailend.
- For the wings, I started with a cylinder, and started extruding certain edges outwards to form the profile. I also joined certain vertices, since I had more than I needed to work with.
The only other thing of interest is the propeller blades. While extrusion wasn’t use, I did rotate the outer faces of the blades to give each blade a slight twist.
