Sculpted Head with SSS

My husband’s head in progress. Still missing eyes and lots of hair. He finally admitted that it’s starting to look like him, so that’s a good thing. Underlying topology is not great but a good start into sculpting anyways (I think).

Good progress, yes it is hard!
Never did a human sculpt. Only the Orc and I did a cartoon instead.

I think the ears are a bit too large. The ears lie between the eyes and nose.

Hard to sculpt without a sound foundation shape from my point of view. But it seems to be the new way many go for as they can with the rapid development of complex sculpting tools.

Keep at it. keep the husband sitting there as reference!

I agree with FedPete and NP5. Fine sculpt indeed!

And I don’t think you need to worry about topology at this stage. You can always retopologize later (or not do it if it’s only to do nice renders in Blender  ).

Yes, I can see that. However, I used front and side pictures as a reference and the ears quite match, not quite sure what it is. Could be my mistake anyways or he’s just got big ears

I wish, most of the time when I am sculpting he’s not there or looking after our almost 1 year old son, so would be hard to keep him seated still! But I took reference pictures of him :face_with_hand_over_mouth:
