Scriptable Objects in Dialogue and Quests course

The purpose of them is to create an in-game system, or a system that only exists in the Inspector and for the dev’s eyes only?

I have been digging into the courses more and reading up about SOs in general. I assume a similar system could be created to handle tech trees, talent trees or similar nested systems in-game?
