Screen has slot but no assign option given?

Got a secon material slot for screen but it doesent have an option to assign …

EDIT MODE.
To select any faces to assign you need to be in edit mode.
Then select the required faces and then open the ‘Slot2’ dropdown up and the assign button is there.
