Looking good so far.
You can hide the notch cutters from being rendered, but may need to activate the camera icon from the funnel icon dropdown top right of the outliner to do so.

I ended up having to delete the notches and then redo them and apply the modifier. After duplicating them the option to apply the modifier wasn’t working, but the notches also had no option to hide on the viewport or render aside from the original.
I also had to turn on the option to have the hide from render option too. Not sure if that is standard or just a version difference.
