Santacalypse (Project boost)

It was a bloody fight for each megabyte to make the game fit the size requirements but somehow I managed to publish it.

Optimising one’s game is part of the job.

I’ve just played your game, and I really like the concept. If you want to optimise it further, you could check if the santa would also look nice with less tris/verts.

Yeah, I retopologized Santa in a quick but not very effective way so he has some excessive geometry. But it helped me to find many possible issues that appear while convering a sculpted object to the game format so it was a good practice. Decent topology is the next level :slight_smile:

Absolutely. If you create your own assets, definitely do learn how to decrease the number of vertices. That could significantly improve the performance of your game. (Maybe not in this specific game as there don’t seem to be that many different and/or complex meshes but in your future games which are larger and have more meshes.)
