Hello all,
So this is my attempt at fixing the normals in the mess file provided with the section. I thought I was being clever by pressing ‘A’ to select all the faces and this will keep the normals that are correctly facing outwards in place and the normals that needed fixing will be amended. Didn’t work, wrong of me to underestimate the challenge. 
So I had to manually select each normal face facing inward and flip them and here is my solution below.
