Here is my entry:
The board:
It consists of 64 fields: 8 horizontal rows and 8 vertical lines
Both in horizontal and vertical direction the fields are alternating between light and dark
Often one finds on the other side a checkerboard, with 100 fields. The size is approximately 40 by 40 centimeters.
(The lines are indicated with a letter (a-h), for the white player line a is left and line h is right.The rows are indicated by a number (1-8), 1 on the side of the white player and 8 on the side of the black player, so each field can be noted with a letter and number, for example e4.)
The game:
Each player has sixteen playing pieces. One player has white (the light-colored pieces), the other has black (the dark colored pieces). At the start of the game, the game pieces as shown below are shown on the board.
The pieces are for everyone:
1 king
1 lady (or queen)
2 towers
2 runners (or counselors)
2 horses
8 pawns
Dimensions:
Height king 8.5 cm / base 40% of height base 3.5 cm
Height others 8 cm / base 40% of height base 3 cm
Height pawns 7 cm / base 40 %of height base 2.5 cm
