Great idea for generating thoughts about content! I’ve played Baldur’s Gate (big D&D fan!) and Pillars of Eternity. I need to check out the other suggestions.
Also don’t forget Diablo 3, especially for console gamers since none of those in the OP exist on console except for Baldur’s Gate but that’s only for PlayStation 2.
Edit, Also Pillars of Eternity II has just smashed $2.4 million in funding on Fig.co - https://www.fig.co/campaigns/deadfire shows there is a lot of desire for good RPG’s in the market.
