I played around with the particle system for a little bit on my own but I ended up borrowing the particle systems from the video resources. I did however tweak the color and output density of the side thrusters. I wanted to go for a more compressed air style side thruster.

I also made it so the model and lights deactivate when the rocket crashes so it looks like the explosion completely obliterated the rocket.

I like it! I also did something similar yesterday, turns out it you apply negative gravity, color over lifetime and shape we can achieve underwater bubbles 
How did you go about making those lights or cubes on the side glow? Very cool!
Iirc the glow was an unintended side effect. I put a spot light on each side of the rocket and I think the light is colliding with the mesh which is causing a really bright spot at that point.
Cant remember if I put any post processing on that but it kinda looks like there’s probably some bloom on there as well which would amplify the glow effect.
