New section, starting over from square one. First lesson using basic metaballs. I made a Rhino Beatle. Can’t wait to learn how to add some detail on this bad boy. I am not satisfied with the result right now.

Very nice metaballs insect. Strange things metaballs the do not get much use but are fun to use.

Yeah, metaballs are a lot of fun. I saw animations using metaballs as water drops and with motion graphics. But they behaved a bit strange when I tried to make the insect. In smaller dimensions, they do not keep their shape, and parts dissapear when rotated. It’s a bit frustrating when you’re only used to hard surface modeling. But I’m happy to get to know this new part of Blender. I’m sure they can come in handy sometimes!
