so I created this sphere and it looks good in material preview mode, however in display preview it looks like complete mess.
How can i fix this or render it in material preview mode?

Not sure what you mean.
Preview mode basically uses Eevee (in its simplest mode) to get a quick review of your object(s).
Render mode, when Cycles selected, uses Cycles but with lower sample rates.
Eevee does rasterizing to show textures, and takes simplification of the matter involved.
Cycles use a form of raytracing, where all aspects of a material is involved.
So you CAN NOT compare Eevee with Cycles! And or Material preview with render preview.

You have a dull overcast day hdri and no light/lamp in the scene so the two are using very different lighting set ups,
