512 x 512 (4 tiles): 16 min 41 sec
256 x 256 (12 tiles): 6 min 16 sec
128 x 128 (40 tiles): 5 min 19 sec
64 x 64 (135 tiles): 5 min 9 sec
32 x 32 (510 tiles): 4 min 59 sec
16 x 16 (2040 tiles): 4 min 56 sec
8 x 8 (8160 tiles): 4 min 58 sec
I use AMD HD 7700 series, and it can be use to render.
Hope blender could support more AMD GPU card soon.
When I set my card to render in User Preferences (OpenCL >> Tahiti) and select GPU Compute when rendering, it fails and gives me a fatal error that stops compilation. Here’s the screenshot.
This appears to be a known bug in some newer versions of Blender. Here’s a link to an older thread that was eventually closed. Others continue to have various problems with this same error:
