Render is too bright in cycles

Hello guys.

My render in cycles is too bright. I am not sure what I changed in the settings some time ago. I am following the blender course and I see that in the video cycles renders much darker than evee. For me it the same bright or even brighter in cycles. Ambient occlusion is turned off. I have reset the settings to default but it is still the same.

Is it the same for you?

The same happens when i render scenes with color, it is much brighter in cycles which is not what i want as I set up the scene in evee.

Do you have any ideas? Thank you

You can not compare Eevee with Cycles.
They are different render algorithms.
And it’s a known fact that Eevee lighting is different than Cycles (more precise).
It’s also something that Blender Devs are trying to fix.

Eevee does render very fast but at a cost of light and shadow calculations.
Cycles is precise, that is why the version of the cycle is noisy (fireflies).
Cycles need more light samples to calculate. 64 > 128, 256, … 2048
But then it slows down the process. So they invented the Cycles demoiser.

You will learn. Have fun.

As FedPete says, they are very different engines. Effectively you need to decide which you are aiming to use at the end result and light to suit that.
