This is my version of instructor Gary Pettie’s Tower Defense game Realm Rush from the GameDev.tv “Complete C# Unity Game Developer 3D course” - I personally do not like voxel so I ran with a mix of free assets from the unity asset store with some personal tweaks. UI elements and Audio are from a recent humble bundle sale.
I’ve been into game design for all of about 1-1/2 to 2 yrs. This is the only course I’ve ever taken aside from YT tutorials. I did not know a lick of programming before this course.
Gameplay Notes:
- This is a single scenario, or single level prototype/demo only.
- You cannot build on the enemy path! (no matter what the green cursor says)
- Enemies get tougher with every new wave.
- 75g is required to build a new tower
- Minus 25 gold if an enemy gets through your gate.
- Plus 25g when you kill an enemy.
- You lose if you let too many enemies through OR if you run out of gold.
- You win if you acquire enough gold.
Game controls:
- Left Mouse Clicking
- ESC: pause menu
- C: Development key to show enemy path vs tiles available to build on.
Playing from mobile is possible, if just a bit weird:
- Tap on available tiles to place towers.
- Tap on UI menu buttons to access everything else.
- You will likely have to close your internet browser to exit full screen mode.
