So if I understand it all well then:
- The animation made before should not be working when the re-rigging was done correctly (because everything was parented to the base and now the Lamp is child of the Rig)?
- The re-rigging should be done before doing any animation (regardless of export)? So in the proper workflow we animate a lean and clean model only? Best to do the clean vertex group-bone workflow from the beginning.
- In the re-rigged model the base is turning when the stem is turning since we combined stem and base in the same vertexgroup? (I don’t think that is what we want). Not sure yet.
My re-rigging ended the same as Michael/Ben with the base not moving in the animation. Somehow my model seems less stable since the re-rigging is done. Bones and vertexgroups sometimes end up in diifrent places; never had that before.
