I tried to stick close to Grant for the modeling. I used a color palette to assist with items fitting into the same world, which was a first for me. Dino looked like a sheet metal project, so I smoothed it out, which made it look photo-shoped into the world. Looking for feedback on how to make skin type things.

You are jumping ahead in creating your own materials. Well done.
But there is much more to explain how to create skin-type materials.
It’s a combination of many properties of a material. For example subsurface
or bump maps
. Just follow the course you will get there.
Have fun!
