I chose my pin specifically because I like that the bottom of it was flat, am I going to run into problems down the road because my curve point at the very bottom isn’t laid flat? I was assuming i could just connect it with the other side using a flat line…

Well a fixable problem down the road, but all you need to do is select the central control point at 0;0;0, press V and select Vector. Do the same for the connecting ‘handle’ that joins to it from the bottom outside edge of the pin. These handles will turn Yellow, and go direct to one another in a straight line.
