Your roof has a chimney cut out, which is a solution.
But a better ‘topology’ is to have the chimney as a separate object.
Leaving the roof as a flat surface (1 QUAD).
It will be easier to add textures to roof and chimney.

okay right, I see what you mean. but for the purpose of this challenge, I was just extruding.
