Question about Vector art and Pixel art

One question I’ve add for awhile now is, how does Vector art relate to Pixel art? I understand the main difference is that vector art is built with vector graphics, whereas pixel art is just pixels.

My main question is, if I’m building a game, do I typically stick to one art style, or can I interchange them? For example lets say I created a pixel art character, but then my HUD uses vector graphics. Would this work and how do I know?

Hi Kp4ws,

It very much depends on the game engine but typically using godot or unity (as you probably would use unreal), the HUD is a canvas over the background anyway so its independant of the pixel style art of the character.
As long as it doesnt look odd and is atheistically pleasing then there is no reason why you cannot use both.

At least thats my opinion on that you can do both in that sense

Hope this helps
