Question about extracting

Hello!

Just trying to understand what exactly the point of extracting the methods is in this case. Is Rick just teaching this now to show that it could be useful in the future, when we’re creating much more complicated code? As it is, I don’t find this particularly code hard to read, and it almost makes it a little more cumbersome to have to scroll down to yet another method that’s just saying the same thing.

I saw someone make a point once that some of the lessons are a bit “over-engineered”, and this was the first time I really agreed with that. Just curious if I’m missing something here, or if this is more so being taught now as a “good to know” sort of thing, that will be better applied in the future?

Thanks for your help!
