Here’s the updated Mayan pyramid with the lizard top, complete with steps and railings.
I understand now what it means to plan ahead when it comes to loops cuts and subdivisions, the step where I made the loop cuts for the rail ended up crossing through the tail I made on the backside of the temple entrance, which caused these weird surface protrusions that spread the tail out. I only managed to get rid of it by deleting the edges that were created by the cut, and had to extrude the surface again to remake the tail.
