Hi GameDev team, I’m sending you this message because I’ve learnt (through research on the internet) that you guys did develop a course with a section on how to make a castle defense style plants vs zombies 2D for Unity. I have some of your courses but I never been able to find this one specifically, did you remove it by any chance? If you can help me, I’ll appreciate it very much
I wish you all a great day and week. Thank you
Hi Brite,
Welcome to our community! ![]()
I think you might be looking for Glitch Garden. Our team didn’t remove this game from the course, it’s just not part of the remastered versions anymore. It was in Ben Tristem’s very first Unity course he created about 10 years ago. Since then, it hasn’t been included in the following remastered versions. The reason is probably that the website of the open-source project “Glitch Garden” got closed, and students cannot download the free assets from that website anymore.
Gary Petty made a new tower defence game for the previous version of our Unity 3D course: Realm Rush.
The old videos were moved to archive courses, which we do not support anymore because the content is outdated. If you really want to watch Ben’s ancient videos (or Gary’s), please message our team via support@gamedev.tv. I cannot promise anything, though, because I’m just a teaching assistant. Those archive courses might not be accessible anymore.
I hope this helped. ![]()
Hi Nina.
Thank you very much for the quick reply ![]()
I’m glad to be here! ![]()
I can’t find that course either, maybe it’s one of the old ones? I really like 2D and was thinking in something purely 2D. I hope Ben still have those “ancient” archives and would share with me ahaha I’m going to contact the support team. Thank you so much again!
The archived courses are not visible in our shop.
- The 2D game was Glitch Garden (in the first version of the Unity2D course for beginners).
- Gary’s Realm Rush game was 3D (in the previous version of the Unity3D course for beginners).
If you tell our team the name of the course and the name of the game, they’ll very likely be able to tell you whether the content is still accessible or gone forever.
Thank you very much! I just e-mailed them ![]()
Have a great day!
