My take on an updated Starflight/StarControl.

What is this? Singularity sounds awesome.

It does sound interesting, but is it really an RPG?

Thanks for the interest, guys. Singularity is for now just an idea I want to explore in parallel to the course, so no promises that this will ever become more than a little prototype. That said, I’d love to play a somewhat modernized take on the classic Starflight games again, and with the current wealth of powerfull tools (in stark contrast to what the guys at Binary Systems had to work with in the 80s) this could be doable by a single person in his/her spare time.

And yes, I’d call Starflight an RPG, even more so than the better known classics such as Baldur’s Gate, as it feels less scripted and its world more alive. If you haven’t played it yet and can stand really, really old school graphics, give it a shot.
