Project Sands, player experience

I’d like this game to feel mystical, but more in ‘magical realism’ kind of way. I’d really like for player to be excited and curious, and main way to achieve this is through world exploration. The game world, that is somewhat destroyed or seems destroyed at first glance, is much more alive and diverse, and i’d like to give players this sense of discovery, if that makes sense.
So the player’s archetype would be more of a ‘traveler’, and the mood can be described as ‘mystical’, ‘excited’, ‘inspirational’.
