Project Boost, kind of.... Kevin the last spaceman

I decided to spice up “Project Boost” a little and set it to orthographic.

The background artwork is used across two levels and was created using MidJourney’s AI system. I added a menu, lives, a timer, a waypoint system, collectables, music and a scoring system. The timer increases each time a “pod” is collected.

Artwork Assets were from Unity’s asset store.

Each level is four screens wide, I’ve used cinemachine and virtual cameras to smoothly flip the screen and also for camera shake. I’ve only created two levels. It’s harder to play than it looks.

I’m not sure that I’ll do any more levels, as I’m keen to get onto the next project.

Happy to answer any questions.

This is beautiful! Well done. The random asteroid trajectories is a bit weird, and Kevin’s death is somewhat jarring, but I’m not going to complain. This is really nice. The music suits it, too. And I am so jealous of the name. It’s such a good name for a game

Thanks, Bixarrio.

It’s my first “finished” game, so appreciate the constructive thoughts.
