Problems with Boolean Modifier

Hey everyone

I hope, this great community can help me with my stupid problem XD
I used the boolean modifier to cut a “window” in my cube. Unfortunetly i have many holes in my cubes.
I don´t see the problem, everyone please can me help?

Can you show the object in wireframe without the modifier applied?

Is the brick stone mesh solid, as in manifold?

Boolean works on solid object like the default cube! The shape can not have a hole (the meaning of manifold, which is very important when 3D printing).

You can’t boolean delete a face from a cube!
Or a cube from a set of faces, like in your case. The result will be strange.

  • Merge (join) all stones into one object
  • do a merge by distance
  • check if you don;'t have holes in it (manifold).

The 3D print add-on has a check for manifold option.

There a not “single cube” by this mesh.
I subdivided the cube in more parts and this parts extruded it outside, so than is one cube.
One Cube minus one cube must be correct for the boolean modifier, or is mesh to complex for boolean?

No!

But I do think you’ve introduced none manifold object.

  • In edit mode do a merge by distance. because many student introduce error using the ‘e’ extrude tool.

I did, but nothing chanced.

Edit:
It worked! I chanced the solver from Fast to Exact and finish.

Interestingly it sometimes works the other way too. When a Boolean is not working just try the other calculation method. Frequently works.

Yeah i also think that about this modifier XD
