I recently started using Unity on my new laptop which is much faster. The only problem is the text is so small that I can hardly read it. It’s weird because the text in the menu options is fine but the text in all of the screens below the menu headings are tiny (heirarchy, project, console, game screen, scene view, etc.) How can I fix this without making my other text huge???
Hi Penny,
As far as I know, it is (still) not possible to change the font size of Unity’s GUI. However, please feel free to ask our helpful community of students for advice in our official Discord chat.
If nobody can help you, try to increase the global font size in the Windows options.
I have already tried adjusting the settings in the Windows options. It makes other text too HUGE. It really makes it hard for me to work on my projects when I have to strain my eyes in order to read it.
Unfortunately, the small text is a known problem in Unity. Increasing the font size whenever you work with Unity is the only solution I know. The alternative would be to use an additional, larger screen with your laptop.

Maybe this works: Edit > Preferences > UI scaling > Custom scaling value > 200%. It depends on your version of Unity, though.
I finally got the problem solved. It was a Windows 10 issue. A support person from Microsoft helped me get it looking much better. I was having issues with the tiny text in other places too besides Unity.
Awesome. Thanks for letting me know that there is a fix.
