When I am using the sprite shape renderer this square image and lines around the shape are still visible in the game window. Is there a fix for this?

Which version of Unity do you use? In the Game window, make sure that Gizmos is not clicked. The button is on the right side in the top horizontal menu in the game window. In your screenshot, it is cropped, so you’ll probably have to expand the window to see it.
