Problem with parenting

Hi guys, i have a little problem.
The re-rigging only works when i don’t clear the lamp parenting to the armature. Is it alright?

What do you mean re-rigging?

Best way:

  • unparrent bones connected to objects.
  • fix the object (apply scale, set origin point, relocate, rotate)
  • fix the armature
  • connect bone to object and test. Start at the armature base and build up.

I mean the Re-Rigging Lecture of the lamp.
My problem is that when I remove the parenting, join the lamp parts and add the armature modifier to the lamp, the animation doesn’t work properly (I also checked the names of the vertex groups and they match the names of the bones). All transforms and modifiers are also applied.

Remove the vertex group, and create them again with the new rerig set up.

I nearly solved it; now the lamp base is the only part of the lamp that doesn’t move, but I don’t know how to fix that. Maybe it’s an issue caused by the fact that the lamp moves from the base bone, but if I name that bone the same as the lamp base vertex group it doesn’t change anything

Most of the time I use an EMPTY as parent of everything.

So the EMPTY is the parent of the armature.
The armature base bone it the parent of the lamp base, etc.
