As described in lecture first I did all changes to my library files and it went smooth and easy, got its logic and moved on to other part. I copied my blend file of church door and renamed it in my meshes folder, opened it and changed all mesh and object names in the file… Then I reopened blender and linked this file into the scene, made it proxy so I can work with it. Then I selected the doors on the church that were named Church Door 4x4x0.2.blend and selected the new proxy file that is named Church Door LOD A and went to the object options and under option Make link I linked the object data. And as you can see in the image below, I got that under mesh, but name of the object remained the same. Why, and if that is not supposed to change, it is sort of bugger to even try it, its much better to watch on naming in an intro part of project.
Also, as visible on second image when I try to use that object on some other parts something gets weird and out of dimensions…and dimensions are same-nothing was scaled or changed. Why does this happen?
I never applied scaling on any of objects, and they all have 1 under scale columns, so this makes no sense to me…
Also when I deleted the old files I received the warning messages on opening blender that these could not be found, what means that somehow they are still in project, though the new doors were on its place, so there was no harm there but still, I d love to know where the problem is? @Michael_Bridges ridges please could you check this out?
And further to the problems I am so glad I made copy of my whole project folder on other disc even I installed source tree, because it failed too…and its also topic I created here but got no reply…some of the committed files in source tree had an orange minus next to them, after commit and on the right I had options to “open before”, and “open after”. Not sure why this happens. Anyone? Thanks in advance
