Problem installing Eipc Games launcher on Windows

Hi,

Expected Behaviour

Epic Games Launcher installs without issue

Actual Behaviour

Epic Games Launcher installs to a point and then fails with Error 2738- “The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package.”

Solutions tried

  1. Rebooted
  2. Made sure no installations were in progress.
  3. Re-running installer.

After googling the error code I have come across this post on the Unreal Tournament help website, which provided me with links to the mcafee website.

The problem was that at some point mcafee has not uninstalled properly, and this was blocking the install.
