If you really want to make your life easier, once you have the cursor at the end of the line, just hold Shift and hit Home. Once you have the whole word highlighted just do Shift+9 for open parenthesis, whole word gets wrapped in parenthesis. Do the same thing with a a quote mark and you now have completely wrapped the word in half the button presses.

ctrl+f2 is cool though. I wasn’t aware of that. I’ve just been here using ctrl+d like a rube.
