Portfolio, Packaging, Distributing and Marketing the self made Indie Game!

Hi,

I have learned a lot from GameDev courses. Started with Blender and took three courses of Blender, Learnt Unreal Engine Blueprint Courses, learnt Cinematics in Unreal Engine ! Doing C++ course.

Now, I can develop a full Stack, but as an Individual I do not have any idea how to Pack my Game for different Platforms. And then comes to bringing the game out to public.

May I suggest a course that could cover and hand hold us on these topics. This course should be an add - on course, meaning to enroll one must do at least one Unreal Game Development (Like Blueprint) course where one has already developed two - three games, and then on those Games these topics are applied.

Just thinking, as now I am completely clueless on how to bring my Games out and make my portfolio !

Warm regards,

Utpal

There’s a course called How to get a job in the video game industry, Rick teaches how to create your portfolio among many other topics, it’s a really good course and it helped me get a job as a game designer.

As to how to publish your games, Have you noticed that very few indie devs talk about that? Have you noticed that there are no tutorials on how to publish on platforms like Steam and how to use their API? There’s a reason for that, Steam doesn’t allow people to make tutorials of that, and many other platforms also have NDAs and absurd contracts that prevent people from talking about how to publish on those platforms, so, like all of us, you are on your own, the best you’ll find is YouTubers like Thomas Brush that talk very superficially about that topic.

A marketing course would be nice.

Hi Yee !

Thank you very much for guiding, and thank you so much for pointing me out on this course. I’ll certainly do it (just after my surgery).

I am actually not looking for a job. May be, old enough for that ! But I am thinking of starting at my own, and there is where I need help packaging developed games for various platforms and distributing them.

yes, I did notice there is nothing anywhere on Distribution and Marketing of games and allied products like Cinema, and there is where lies a big gap for people like me who wants to start at their own, the stepping stone at - least.

If it’s a result of any kind of contractual absurdity; that is bounding to upholding information at large and for education purposes; of the Private Companies, such contract terms makes for null - da - void, if contested or made to contest. Yes, the contract becomes sine qua non for disclosing at large the individual’s contract terms, but a course does not need Legal Term Sheet introduction. This is how the laws are in democracy.

I would love to see Gamedev holding our hands, if possible on their part.
