A plasma cell is just like a battery.
So, why does it have fragile items … just some thought about usability and realism.

The design won’t be changing much as this is the design they went for in the end.
Very nice indeed. Though is it over detailed for a game? I just imagine a pistol being small in a game.

I am as far removed from gaming as one could be. So a question for you, if I may.
How do you even design a gun like that? Is there some logic and mechanics relative to the world it’s being used in? How does that work? I was always curious about that.
In this case, seeing as there was no concept art provided, I’ve had to make iterations on the gun until they were happy with the gun. Right now they seem happy with it. It was much thinner before but they wanted more body on it and longer barrels and an energy cell to reload it so I think we’ve finally got it down.
My first concept was quite blocky but they didn’t like it so much but I think we’ve cracked it now. I tried to make it sleeker and used a Halo purple to help me get the right idea.
