Wow, I really wish I’d seen the ideas here before I put them in my game idea in the last video! Anyway, here’s what I’ve got when I try to break it down as much as possible:
Features in order of importance:
- A boosting ship.
- Obstacles. (Honestly, I couldn’t decide which should be 2 and which should be 3, so this order is kinda arbitrary since one is pretty useless without the other.)
- Collision detection.
- A start and finish.
- Level progression.
- Style. (i.e.: Obstacles and backgrounds that fit together stylistically.)
- Aesthetics (i.e.: GOOD LOOKING ship, obstacles, and backgrounds.)
- Scoring.
- Fuel mechanic.
- Power-ups.
- Weapons
- Destroyable obstacles.
