I was wondering what makes a Pc good for Blender, because it can get very laggy doing things(even just small stuff). It shows that I have 32 GB of installed Ram, is that good, and if it is why does it get so laggy? Just wondering, Idk a lot about this stuff .
~Thanks!
Graphics work is one of the most demanding things you can do on a computer. Certainly for more than simplistic low poly stuff.
I have a new computer.
It does not lag.
This is from the Blender website itself:
It really does depend a lot on exactly what you’re using Blender for however.
It also depends on what you are doing with Blender.
If you are modeling a lot, and doing a lot of math on verts then specific CPUs are important.
If you are doing a lot of rendering, animation, etc. a specific GPU will be important.
But most students do everything, so you need a generic PC.
I know this is an old post, but I want to add some info. Your main board has a bus speed. This determines the fastest possible communication between your RAM, GPU, and CPU. So having 128 GB RAM isn’t going to do much if it’s 1khz(1,066hz data rate). So the CPU FSB(front side bus), and RAM’s data rate can be equal to or lower than the main board’s bus speed. This is usually the thing that determines how much lag you have when working with any heavy graphics program. This is probably more technical that you were looking for, but it is a major factor that isn’t talked about as much
Thanks for the info!
