This part is a bit hard to follow in 4.2, they moved some of the things around in the particle process material section. Some things were moved to different sub-menus, and in the end i was not sure if i even changed the value of the correct value.
Just a heads-up, i ended up just downloading it from the repo.
yeah, theres a few little things that have changed around with particles and some other minor tweaks.
for the most part, i usually go through courses using the same version as the lecturer, least that way i can follow along, then as new versions come out, i have a better understanding of what to look for if somethings not quite where it should be.
Direction:
in 4.2.1 under Spawn > Velocity > Direction
Gravity:
in 4.2.1 under Accelerations > Gravity
Initial velocity Min and max:
in 4.2.1 under Spawn > Velocity
Scale:
in 4.2.1 under Display > Scale
