Part 1 Final Challenge: Arcades

I had quite a more complicated idea at the beginning, with like a mountain of dead Pacmans at the back of the arcade machine. But decided to go with this so I could play more with the lights.
Pretty happy with the effects of the reflections! I toyed a bit with the material characteristics and discovered the “metallic” option -which I love.
But I must say that I still struggle a lot with the rotating-scaling objects process -had to do a kind of diamond shape for a part of the machine at some point and it was a nightmare.

I hope you guys like it.

Good model and duplication makes filling up scenes easy.

Materials are fun and can be very complicated and fancy. Just keep going through the course and gaining more abilities to make it better still.

Thanks!

Cool section 1 finale!

Don’t see a lot of arcades - nice choice!

For diamond shapes, rotate a cube 45 degrees around the z-axis, apply rotation with ctrl-a, scale on either x- or y-axis into the diamond shape you want.

Or, in edit-mode, when you get to that, you can just select all, then rotate around z-axis, and scale on either x- or y-axis. No need to apply, when you’re in edit-mode.
