Somehow I can’t see this as a chess piece, a whole small scene. Then if it is marine’ what are the humans doing there? no diving suits, air?
To expand upon the “marine” theme, the original concept I’ve based my pieces on is mutant marine life that has started to invade dry land. That’s why this one has managed to hang from a crumbling building to ambush the group.
As for it being a chess piece, the creature I was modeling did’t exactly have the right height to width ratio to portray a proper bishop so I decided to add a wall for it to perch on to give it extra height. I added the people later to fill some of the empty space beneath it and experiment with rigging/posing models.
