Origin of object not moving during animation

I got stuck on this exercise (bcc_s04_pose_to_pose__extremes)

Right at 6:15 in the video, Michael scrubs the timeline forward, then goes into object mode and snaps the 3d cursor to the center of the ball. Then he rotates the ball around the cursor.

When I try to do it, I scrub the timeline but the origin of my ball stays in the original position. So when I try to snap the cursor to the object, it’s not in the right spot.

Has anyone else had this problem? I’m working around it for now by creating an empty in the center of the ball and parenting that to the armature, then using it to snap the 3d cursor to the center.

I had the exact same problem but just ended up ignoring that and simply used the Bone Head(Median point as pivot).

Just a thought… Did you animate the bone while in Pose mode or edit mode? Or did you animate the sphere while in Edit Mode? The Origin will stay where you started and not move if you are in Edit Mode.

I am not a Pro but just I am just trying to make a suggestion. :slightly_smiling_face:
