Node city

It doesn’t look like anyone has posted anything to show the community what sort of projects they give you in the new geometry nodes course, so I decided to post my interpretation of the first mini project.
I already know a decent amount of geometry nodes and didn’t strictly use the nodes he has taught, so I’m a little apprehensive about posting this, but here it is.

I think I could have done it all using the nodes he has taught, but it would have required a little more effort.

Nice. +1

Would you mind showing the node tree?

Not at all! I took a little bit of time to tidy the tree up and colour all the nodes he hadn’t mentioned red.

I could have use instancing to separate the blocks, but this way came to mind first.
The two store named attribute nodes are used for shading.

Awesome. Thank you for sharing.

That’s cool. Reminds me of the tool I use in Rhinoceros CAD, called Grasshopper. It is based on generative algorithms, allowing you to build whatever you want using nodes and math.

Can’t wait to start the course too.
And please keep posting your progress.
Cheers,
Ray

No problem!

From what I’ve heard about rhinoceros CAD, you should be able to pick it up pretty quick.
Happy blending.
