NLA, strips, actions, push down

All this animation stuff seems overwhelming! Is it planned to expand the Complete Blender Creator course to cover such topics or can anyone recommend a course on udemy that does?

Some of the resources I’ve seen, including another udemy course, touch on those topics but in the middle of rigging projects which are way more complicated than is needed to illustrate the principles involved.

Animation, using the NLA editor is difficult. The UI is hard to understand. GameDev only superficial talks about this subject.

there are youtube vloggers who are talking only about animation in blender. search for them. And in 3.3.0 things are changing a bit, like armature poses.

It is complex and probably why it is only lightly touched on in the courses. Bearing in mind it is a specialisation many do not use at all.

Thanks both. At least I’m not alone in finding this workflow difficult.

Guess I’ll have to pick up snippets here & there from youtube. Seems less efficient though than a comprehensive course. Maybe the fact that Blender is rapidly changing deters investment in such a thing. Course would be obsolete by the time it was finished. I think the gamedev team have done well in respect to that with the CBC. Although I started messing with it back at blender 2.something the content has been kept up to date.

My project needs low-poly objects, each with several animations, exported to gltf files that are then used in three.js. I’ll try asking back here when I hit problems.

Cheers.
