So here is how it went:
• a prototype level map is completed in Unreal Engine
-> made decent progress but it still needs some work/tweaking
• A basic main menu is implemented
-> basic implementation done
• The game design document is restructured
-> I wasn’t able to get to this task yet. I did work on the GDD though, but did not completely restructure the document yet as mentioned.
• Learning: finish the current project/exercise for an Unreal Engine 4 course
-> made some decent progress, however the project takes a bit longer to complete than I expected (section 4 of The Unreal Engine Developer Course)
• Learning: finish the ‘Finish it!’ course
-> done
Conclusion: In general I’m quite OK with the result as I really made some progress and had several super-productive(!) weeks. (I had several other tasks done that were not mentioned above)
What I learned is that I need to chill from time to time also when in a “flow” of work because I didn’t really do that for weeks and then last week I suddenly felt very tired and needed to compensate for that to replenish my energy.
