A lot of fields in blender can be copied and pasted without actually selecting the field. Just hover over the field and press ctrl+c and then hover over where you want it to go and press ctrl+v. Also works with things like colors in materials.

It is very handy though I probably most of the time end up typing in the box and think of it afterwards.
