My well

I have an issue with my well scene. The problem is my rooftop tiles are not visible properly in the look dev mode but when in solid mode it is clear. Need help on this

Change Lighting and just render the shadows.
You probably use emitter option as material … ?
And do these tiles overlap?!

I’m sorry, I’m very new to blender, could you please explain it more.

I don’t know what’s a emitter is or maybe there was something in the lecture I didn’t concentrate on

Your first image all colors look ‘flat’, like an over exposure.
Because you are new, you can have switched on or off some of these Blender options. Just to see what happens. So for us viewers difficult to say what to do.

Maybe this will help you:

  • Change the lamp type to sun. This will always throw a shadow and make thing more visible.
  • Press F12 to render

the PBR property emission means, emit light (so shadows will become difficult to see)

But, this a just my observation, I can not tell you what you did wrong by seeeing this screen.

Well I just figured something out. When switching to cycles the image is crystal clear and the tiles are also visible as i expect, but in evee there are no shadows, the tiles are not visible etc. I don’t know what’s happening

Eevee is a fast renderer!
But by default, most fun stuff is switch OFF or uses a low intensity CPU mode. Meaning basic shadows etc.
The course will explain this further.
In other wordt, you need to switch on things in Eevee, like occlusion shadows, reflection …

Okay got it. Then I guess I have to wait for further lectures in order to understand it fully. Thanks for the help mate really appreciated.
