If I understand correctly your Game Moment section, your gameplay will be “looting outposts”? Will you fight someone while looting? Will there be traps? How much time will it consume? Thanks for attention.
Yes and yes
The idea is that the player arrives with basic “hunting” equipment, such as a bow and a knife ,but while searching the area, they can find more “pre-apocalypse” weapons, which they can use to fight the various enemies in the scene. At some point, the player will find a special item, which will trigger an “ambush” where lots of enemies are spawned in to attack the player and the player will need to use this special item to defend themselves.
As to traps, this is an interesting question as while there will be some in the area, they need to fit within the context of the story. My intention is to have a bunker within the outpost which will contain the item and have traps within it, but it raises the question of why the military would do that and if its a previous looter who set the traps, why would they leave the item behind?
I recently played through Far Cry 5 and in the game, there are hidden caches in nuclear shelters owned by survivalist types, which is a neat idea, so my military outpost, may well change to a something like a deserted village where one of the houses was owned by a survivalist with a nuclear bunker. It also gives an opportunity for a classic dungeon crawl, but in a post-apoc environment.
