I’ll be honest I didn’t like any of the sprites during the video and I feel like it’s because 8x8 is a bit too constrained to have drop shadows let alone outlines.
I understand why it’s there though.
I tried my best but trying to make something legible while making space for the drop shadows made it surprisingly difficult to make a bomb and a shield.
Felt like adding more detail to the bow to help it look more like a bow and less like a “D”.
I found this to be possibly the worst lecture/challenge in this course.
When you factor in the outline alone the 8x8 turns into a 6x6 and if you want to add the shadow it leaves you with a 6x5… The drop shadow just blends with the outline and doesn’t even add anything at this resolution. If anything it makes you lose the contour which is detrimental to the readability of the icon.
You made good effort though for sticking to the constraints, well done.
