The glass ceiling makes it a little difficult to see what’s going on inside, but basically the trigger volume is in the alcove to give some more impetuous to the player to get a move on before the door closes again.
Had horrible problems with the engine bugging out, GitHub saved my bacon as RCS and CVS had done on so many other occasions before that.
