I like to practise texture painting. At the moment I find it very difficult… but I give it a try.

…it is a pain in the ass to paint with a mouse…
First time I am using a wacom…That´s so much easier than the mouse. 
Really like it and recommend it.

Blending of textures

Today I have experimented with stencils. I find this technique interesting and you can work with it as an artist. It is like doing some collage in the sense of overlaying sketches and it has something of projecting transparent sketches in a stack. I didn´t understand it completely, but I like to experiment.
Two materials
a green one and a magenta one.
The green one has a voronoi texture added.
With texture painting and alpha I can “erase” the green colour or the magenta colour depending, if I use black or white or grey.
With white I “paint” with green, with black, I paint magenta.
A tipp: With overlays unticked, I can see the result directly while painting.
See? You can understand my nodes 
The difference is that instead of using a texture drawing I use procedural ones to mix the black and white and then use another mix to give them color and ramps here and there…

Today I have experimented with the different brushes.
The texture painting image texture controls where bricks are and where the plaster ist. Just simply by drawing in black and white.
